Accurately summarize content in writing
Daily Activity:
1. Overview: requirements for Ethnography paper (take notes)
2. Return: summaries written for Reaction paper. See comments and improve if need be.
3. Summary writing exercise: student summary ("Caitlin Jenner"). Write a summary following the steps on the half-sheet handout. Note teacher comments made to the student writer and write a summary of the article. We did this in pairs in class and discussed (5 points).
Reminders/Due Dates:
1. Reaction/response and rough draft (evidence of writing process) due on Monday, 11/9. Submit a copy of the article you responded to as well.
2. Read scholarly article on the ethnography paper: "Putting Ethnographic Writing in Context." Annotate important points. Be prepared for the possibility of summarizing your learning on this. (We must continue to work on this skill.)
