React to literature based on evidence
Daily Activity:
1. Quiz: one paragraph describing details from the last chapter. Hand in.
2. In class:Choose four statements from the "student quotes" handout that has agree/disagree responses. Locate at least two pieces of evidence supporting your opinion. Provide a brief quote or description and the page number.
Place on board. When all students had completed this, we did a "gallery walk."
3. Time allowing: symbolism at the end . . . . (See "traditional symbols" handout.)
